(DENVER, CO) — Victor Marx, the clear front-runner in the 2026 Colorado Republican gubernatorial primary, delivered a commanding performance in Tuesday night's 9News debate, further solidifying his position as the candidate best prepared to deliver common sense governance and fiscal responsibility to a state desperate for real leadership.

From fundraising to polling to volunteer enthusiasm to grassroots social media support, every metric confirms what Coloradans already know: Victor Marx is the Republican nominee-in-waiting, and the Democrats know it too.
"The cost of living, that's probably the biggest thing on people's hearts and minds right now. The pain point, it doesn't matter whether you're Democrat, Republican, or Independent, we're just all Coloradans, and we all feel the pain," said Victor Marx during tonight’s winning debate performance.
Victor Marx is no career politician. As a former U.S. Marine and internationally recognized high-risk humanitarian who has operated in some of the world's most dangerous environments, Victor has faced real adversity and won. He brings that same grit, discipline, and mission-focused leadership to his campaign for governor. While others talk, Victor succeeds.
Tonight's debate was no different. While his opponents traded in tired talking points, Victor delivered a bold, relatable vision for Colorado's future — one rooted in protecting taxpayers, backing law enforcement, expanding school choice, securing Colorado's water, and restoring fiscal sanity to a state government that has lost its way.
"I'm a negotiator, not a debater. I'm not a politician," said Victor Marx before Senator Kirkmeyer interrupted with, "You are tonight!"
Victor responded decisively, "Do I look like it? I'll try not to."
Tonight, also made one thing crystal clear: Senator Barb Kirkmeyer and Representative Scott Bottoms are not the solution to Colorado's problems. They are the problem.
Both have served in the Colorado legislature. Both have had their chance to deliver results. And both have come up short. Tonight, rather than presenting a compelling vision for Colorado's future, they demonstrated exactly why voters are looking outside the political class for leadership. Asking for a promotion after a poor performance record isn't bold — it's audacious.
Colorado doesn't need more politicians climbing the ladder on the backs of frustrated taxpayers. It needs a fighter. Victor Marx is that fighter.

In an extraordinary move tonight, Victor Marx used his closing statement to pray for Colorado, his fellow candidates, and both 9News moderators: "I'm going to pray. Father, thank you, Lord, for your goodness and your mercy. And God, I pray that your will would be done in our state to relieve suffering and pain. We need a healed state. We need Coloradans to come together for a change, Lord, and stop all this political nonsense. So, love you, pray you, bless Senator Kirkmeyer and Scott and the two gentlemen that are holding this. In Jesus' name."
Make no mistake, Victor Marx has his eyes on November. Whether the Democrats nominate Michael Bennet or Phil Weiser, Victor is ready. In fact, he's been looking forward to it.
After years of failed Democrat leadership that has driven up costs, weakened public safety, flooded Colorado with bloated regulations, and raided TABOR refunds that belong to hardworking Coloradans, Victor Marx will make the contrast unmistakable. This fall's general election will be a choice between a career politician defending the status quo and a proven fighter demanding accountability.
Victor Marx will win that fight.
