A LEADER, NOT A LAWYER: MARX DRAWS CLEAR CONTRAST WITH WEISER AT COLORADO CHAMBER FORUM
Marx calls for a serious course correction built on common sense leadership, lighter regulation and lower taxes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 8, 2026
(DENVER, Colo.) Victor Marx, the Republican nominee for governor, thanked the Colorado Chamber of Commerce and the many business leaders from across the state who came to today’s Gubernatorial Forum at The Legacy at National Western Center.
Marx said today’s conversation showed how much Colorado’s future depends on a strong business climate. The employers in that room create the jobs, sign the paychecks and support the communities that keep this state moving. They need common sense leaders in the Capitol, fewer regulations holding them back, and lower taxes so they can grow, hire and invest here at home.
“I want to thank the Colorado Chamber and every business owner who gave up an afternoon to take part in this conversation. You are the backbone of our economy, and you deserve a governor who stands with you, not against you. Colorado needs a serious course correction. Phil Weiser believes government is the solution. I have faith in fair markets, fewer regulations and an equal playing field where hard work is rewarded, not punished.”
Marx said the forum gave voters a clear choice. One candidate offered more government, more rules and more costs passed down to working families. The other offered a return to the principles that built Colorado: personal responsibility, free enterprise and a government that lives within its means.
“Today, Phil Weiser dodged, weaved and avoided the things Coloradans care about most: keeping more of their own money, keeping their families safe and building a better life for their children. Those aren’t talking points. Those are the promises I will keep. I trust Coloradans will choose a leader, not a lawyer, when they fill out their ballots for governor.”
Marx closed by inviting every business owner, worker and family who feels the squeeze of rising costs to join a campaign focused on lowering the cost of living, making communities safer and putting Colorado first.
